Real Weddings: Jacinthe & Guillaume

It was Jacinthe’s beauty and sparkling eyes that would distract Guillaume from finishing his meal. Their romance is a delicious one, having met in the cozy confines of a restaurant through a mutual friend.

His kindness and genuine nature hooked Jacinthe in, “He’s an incredibly beautiful soul – inside and out.”

Guillaume and Jacinthe would later return to the same restaurant where they first met. This time, however, he would propose to his sweetheart. “My idea was to ask the waiter to place the ring in the meal under a serving dish. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t have a serving dish, so I had to improvise while she was in the washroom.”

Dunking the ring in her glass of wine, Guillaume waited in anticipation for Jacinthe to finish her glass, even urging her to take some sips. “She asked me to finish her glass of wine because she was not feeling well!” Guillaume remembers, “So I finished her glass of wine and gave her a kiss with the ring in my mouth.” After a sultry liplock across the table, Jacinthe was immediately seized with excitement when she could feel the princess cut diamond ring in his mouth. “I didn’t have time to make my proposal, she just said ‘yes’ and kissed me again,” Guillaume laughs.

Beach and bubbly

In a November wedding accented in greys and plums, Jacinthe, Guillaume and 30 of their closest friends and family gathered in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic to celebrate their seaside nuptials with a quaint ceremony along the shores of the Caribbean.

Dressed in an frothy gown, and carrying a bouquet of calla lilies, Jacinthe made her way down the sandy path to her beloved. These lovebirds couldn’t take their eyes off each other, recounting the walk down the aisle as the most memorable of their big day.

“That moment of anticipation walking towards him, with that breathtaking view behind him; it was an unbelievable feeling,” recounts Jacinthe with a smile.

Getting married in Punta Cana was a great option for Jacinthe and Guillaume. With family across Europe, this sunny solution offered a common tropical point for relatives to partake in the celebrations, and doubled as a great vacation destination, too.

“We loved getting married in the Dominican Republic. The simplicity of the ceremony and the tropical ambiance reflected our tastes perfectly,” both agreed unanimously. “It was a surreal feeling to celebrate this huge moment in our lives with everyone we care about most… and in paradise!”

The joyous couple and their wedding party whiled away the evening sipping bubbly – their signature wedding drink – and danced their way into the night to spicy Latin beats on a beach party reception under the stars.
