Where it all Started
Both from a small town in Saskatchewan, Kristy and Chris’ love story started with a Facebook friend request. The pair were both in a mutual friend’s wedding party, which Kristy used as an excuse to send Chris a friend request. He accepted and sent her his number, asking if she wanted to go for a drink. The rest, as they say, was history!
Chris knew from the moment he met Kristy that she was the one. The couple both loved to fish, so he planned a fishing trip on his new boat to their favourite lake. While they were out on the lake, he started giving a speech about how much he loved her. When she turned around, he was down on one knee holding a diamond ring! Of course, she said ‘yes.’
Planning the Wedding
The couple knew from the beginning that they wanted a destination wedding. Neither were very good planners and Chris’ guest list alone would be huge – they wanted a smaller wedding with just their closest family and friends. Having a destination wedding was the perfect choice.
They had been to Cabo San Lucas twice before and always thought it was a beautiful place for a wedding. They chose Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas as their wedding resort for its breathtaking views of the famous Arches from the beach!
On March 6th, 2018, Kristy and Chris said ‘I do’ on the beach at Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas in front of 69 of their family and friends. Chris’ favourite moment of the day was seeing his beautiful wife and their two children walking down the aisle towards him on the beach. Afterwards, the party moved to the poolside reception for a night of dancing and fun! The couple plans on taking a trip to Disney World with the whole family for their honeymoon.
