This brand-new wedding series focuses on giving couples whose first wedding didn’t go as planned a ‘redo’, and an opportunity to finally have their dream weddings. Along with her co-host, renowned designer Caspar Haydar, Jessica plans and executes breathtaking weddings in an array of destinations across Canada, the U.S.A and the Caribbean to give couples a second chance at starting their forever.
We sat down with Jessica to get the lowdown on her exciting new project and talked about everything from her favorite moments during filming to when and where viewers can tune-in and watch the magic unfold.
Your brand-new wedding series, I DO, REDO, is currently in production. What can you tell us about this exciting project?
I DO, REDO is an all-new wedding series that gives couples a second chance at their dream wedding. My team and I work with couples whose first wedding didn’t go as planned and remake the wedding they’ve always wished for!
The series includes ten episodes, two of which feature the Wedding Vacations team! The Wedding Vacations team helped us plan absolutely breathtaking destination weddings in exciting tropical locations and a few of the Destination Wedding Consultants even joined us in the tropics to lend their expertise on-site! It was amazing to share this experience with the Wedding Vacations team I can’t wait for everyone to see the magic that we’ve created.
Why was it important for you to make this show?
I DO, REDO showcases a side of the wedding industry that has never been shown on television before. Instead of following the fairytale narrative that is often associated with weddings, this show goes beyond simply showing a perfect wedding highlight reel and bravely tells the stories of real people and their real weddings, pitfalls, mistakes, unexpected turns of events and all. It’s a thoughtful and feel-good series that provides us with the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of the couples that we work with.
What exciting destination wedding locations can viewers expect to see?
We visit an array of exciting destinations including The Dominican Republic and Jamaica!
You mentioned that I DO, REDO focuses on planning weddings for couples whose first wedding didn’t go as planned, what was that like?
I was so inspired by each of the ten couples that we worked with during the first season and their love for one another. It was a privilege to give them the wedding that their love deserves. These couples are inspiring, their love is strong and it’s a privilege to give them the wedding that their love deserves.
What has been your favorite part of this experience so far?
I’ve loved meeting the couples and learning about each of their incredible love stories. Many of them have overcome the unimaginable together and are a shining example of the power of love and perseverance.
When is I DO, REDO premiering and where can fans watch?
I DO, REDO is set to premiere in 2020 on CTV, CTV Life Channel and Crave in Canada and on Netflix internationally.
