Dominican Republic Weddings

Tie the knot in the Dominican Republic!

Whether you choose to tie the knot in Punta Cana, Puerto Plata or one of the Dominican Republic’s other popular hotspots, your wedding is sure to be picture-perfect. With plenty of picturesque locations, the Dominican Republic is a longtime favorite choice for couples planning a destination wedding.
Couples can choose to tie the knot at a breathtaking venue in a top-rated resort in Punta Cana, overlooking lush gardens in Puerto Plata or on a white-sand beach in La Romana! During your destination wedding week, tee off on world-class golf courses, soak up the sun on pristine beaches or experience the island’s unique landscapes both on land and under the sea with thrilling excursions.

Travel Tips
  • Language: Spanish. While the local language is Spanish, English is widely spoken in resorts and tourist destinations.
  • Currency: DOP (Dominican Peso). We recommend travelers bring USD for their vacation.
  • Voltage: 110V. Canadian/American devices use 120 V and will work with 110 V. Many resorts have 120 V plugs. For older devices, items using motors or heating (heated beauty tools, electric toothbrushes) and three-prong plugs we recommend bringing an adaptor with voltage conversion.
  • Time Zone: Atlantic Standard Time
  • Tipping: It is customary to tip all hotel staff that may assist you (waiters, cleaning staff, baggage carriers, transfer drivers, etc.); taxi drivers with no meter typically do not require tips.
  • Health: Most resorts have hotel doctors that can treat minor issues. Tourists can also visit local pharmacies that will accept USD and have a range of prescription and non-prescription drugs.
